Description After working with KW on competition suspension solutions for our hybrid electric 350z racecar and the Model 3, we know developing a competition kit would be the ideal solution when our friends at Team PGR decided they wanted to do the ultimate road/track Model S Plaid for One Lapf Of America. The decision was a good one – with the car beating nearly all of its compeition – which was made up of modified supercars – some with semi pro drivers! The amazing thing was as good as this suspension system was on the track, it was also very reasonable and tolerable on the road (with the dampers softened up). You can read all about that Model S Plaid build that we did for Team PGR here. The Team PGR Model S remains one of the most heavily modified and track-proven Model S builds in the world! With success not only in One Lap Of America, but also in other forms of time trial and time attack, it was clear that the Plaid platform has a ton of potential, esspecially when used for split road/track use.   We’ve since helped MPP racer Kimihiro Yashiro with his Plaid. Outfitting it with a complete catalogue of MPP parts, including this competition suspension – Kimi took the championship in the JEVRA – Japan’s EV Racing League – for multiple years in a row. Kimi-san’s continued success in the Model S Plaid has shown us that the potential of these flagship Teslas as track weapons cannot be overlooked. After being crowned the Champion for multiple years, Kimi also added a Model 3 to the team stable so both cars can compete in the series, and other races.   About The Suspension Kit: KW Competition suspension can be found on some of the most competitive GT cars in the world – KW dampers are the weapon of choice in GT4, GT3, Nurburgring 24, and Le Mans hypercars. Over time, demand and interest from customers prompted us to turn these competition coilovers into a real product we could offer. This also coincided with the creation of the MPP Plaid Air Module, which meant the MoTeC system we had in the Plaid R is no longer required in order to remove the OE air suspension without errors. With this module, you’re able to remove the OEM dampers and have the car be none the wiser. This complete suspension kit was specified with the help of KW to ensure the optimal damper dimensions, valving forces, and spring rates are preset – so that you don’t need to be alone on your journey with a huge range of adjustment. The development of the MPP Plaid Air Module also turns this set of coilovers into a simple plug-and-play change, contrasting some other companies that require you to make permanent modifications to your OEM suspension to get coilovers on the car. You don’t need to cut the solenoids out of your original dampers for these! The purchase of each competition kit includes support on setup advice directly from our director, Sasha Anis, who has years of experience as a technical director for numerous racing teams, as well as a hired driver. For this reason, competition kits are available only through MPP directly. The V4 competition damper technology is an evolution of the 3-way EXR and was recently released by KW. The dampers feature leading edge motorsport features such as in-body reservoirs, extremely lightweight aluminum construction (you won’t believe how light the dampers are until you hold them in your hands), long travel, and an incredible range of adjustment, where every single click makes a very noticeable difference.   What’s Included:   KW competition dampers including springs and tender springs MPP motorsport aluminum top hats with spherical top hats (full disclosure: these will clunk as the bearings wear in) MPP Plaid Air suspension module, including instructions, connectors and wiring.
