The good news: these arrived sooner than I expected and they were packaged and alive.The bad news: I didn’t know there were so many different types of ladybugs until I joined a gardening page. There were warnings everywhere about buying lady bugs online because some people were getting Asian lady beetles, which are pests. I got nervous after placing my order when I saw a review that said these were orange lady beetles. Paranoia set in.The good news: While they aren’t your standard red lady bug, they also aren’t the pesty Asian lady beetles. They’re “convergent lady beetles” that are native to North America and are beneficial to gardeners. Their main staple is aphids.
