#851 Cosmetic Clutch & Tote Bag Pattern A rectangular shaped handbag that uses the straight hex-open frame. Has gathers in the frame area for fullness including five sizes. Finished Cosmetic Bag is 8″ wide x 6-1/2″ deep, Small Clutch is 10″ x 8-1/2″, Clutch is 12″ x 10″, Small Tote is 14″ x 14″ and Tote is 18″ x 16″. The cosmetic and small clutch size can double as an evening bag. The clutch works well with or without straps, and the totes become a knitting or sewing bag, diaper bag or carryall. All use the straight hex-open frame and are fully lined with lining showing on the finished bag. Eyelet or cluny lace, fabric pleat or ruffle add a touch of decoration. Instructions for serging, how to make double faced quilted fabric, and lined basic strip piecing included. This pattern uses 8″, 10″, 12″, 14″, or 18″ straight hex-open frame. Because the fabric is gathered onto the frame, it is okay to use a 7″, 8″ or 9″ frame with the Cosmetic size; a 9″, 10″, or 11″ with the Small Clutch size; an 11″, 12″, or 14″ with the Clutch size; & a 16″, 17″ or 18″ with the Tote size.
