The Brown Stonefly is a fly that can be tied on whenever there is larger stonefly action like the golden stone, skwala or salmon fly hatch. This fishing fly sinks quick making it great to fish under an indicator as the lead fly in a team. A great way to fish this trout fly is in and around rocks and grassy banks during a stonefly migration as they move out of the water to transition into adults. Also this can be a go-to pattern in colder months in rivers where stoneflies are prevalent in the spring and summer months.
